Lynna Janes, 59, of Wellington/ Shamrock, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023. Celebration of Life services will be 3:00 PM Thursday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Wellington, Texas, with Kenny Lee Tunstall officiating.
Lynna was born August 4, 1963 in Wellington, Texas to Carroll and Mollie Nunnelley. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1981, one of “The Bucks of ‘81”. She went on to earn her bachelor degree in education from Texas Tech University, where she graduated cum laude. She married the love of her life Kyle Janes on August 1, 1985 in Wellington. Lynna taught school for 19 years in Shamrock and Samnorwood, retiring in 2007. She enjoyed her career immensely. In her spare time, Lynna enjoyed fishing, riding horses, and paddle boating at the Bumpass. She and Kyle took many motorcycle trips together. Lynna always enjoyed a good meal at one of her favorite restaurants and she was always up for an adventure. She adored being Lolli to her grandbabies, a mother to her girls, and she shared an amazing bond with her sisters. To know Lynna was to love her. She was a member of Church of Christ in Shamrock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, Bill and JoAnn Janes; and a nephew, Jarred Biehl.
Survivors include her husband, Kyle Janes of Wellington; two daughters, Magen Carter and husband Micah of Wellington, and Malanee Noland and husband Ky of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Jessica and Jackson Carter; four sisters, Carla Biehl and husband Greg of Clyde, TX, Janna May and husband David of Allen, TX, Paula Hays and husband Collin, and Connie Nunnelley all of Amarillo; nieces and nephews, Jace Biehl, Macy and Austin May, and Ben and Mollie Hays.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Wellington.
