Manuela Saenz Baeza, 84, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021. Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 2300 N. Spring St., with Fr. Shane Wieck officiating. The Rosary service will be at 5:00 PM Tuesday at St. Laurence Catholic Church. Manuela was born October 5, 1936 in Las Puentes, Chihuahua, Mexico. She married Aucensio Baeza on December 4, 1956 in Ascension, Chihuahua, Mexico. The couple moved to Dell City, Texas in 1961, and then to Amarillo in 1998. Manuela dedicated her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed gardening; she especially loved her geraniums. She was an amazing cook, and loved cooking for her family. She enjoyed going for drives, especially to the lake, and the Cross in Groom. Manuela attended St. Laurence Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aucensio Baeza, Sr.; a brother, Humberto Garcia; and a sister, Amelia Guerrero.
Survivors include four sons, Manuel Baeza, Ruben Baeza, Aucencio “Junior” Baeza, Jr. and wife Cindy, and Jaime Baeza and wife Norma all of Amarillo; two daughters, Maria Baeza Franco and husband Javier Francisco Franco of El Paso, and Dora Widener and husband Jeff of Amarillo; a sister, Rosa Castillo and husband Gilbert of Dell City, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Laurence Catholic Church.
