Marian Jean Warren 84, of Amarillo passed away June 11, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Llano Cemetery with Pastor Michael Grady officiating. Marian was born July 25, 1937 in Waco, Texas to James and Juanita Kelly. She studied piano and dance in her youth before graduating from Waco High School. She married her one and only love Fred Warren on August 22, 1959, in Waco, Texas. Marian worked at the Amarillo Police Department for over 20 years as a secretary in the detective division. She wore many different hats, but the most important ones were being a wife and a mother. Marian’s strong and unwavering love for her family and friends was felt by all who were blessed to have her in their life. She loved and enjoyed life, whether it was dancing in the aisle at the grocery store, cracking a funny one-liner joke, or just making sure that everyone was taken care of. She will be greatly missed and remembered as a strong, caring person with a great sense of humor.
Marian is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her best friend and loving husband Fred; her daughter Wendy Wilson and son-in-law Gus; daughter Stacy Nelms and son-in-law Michael; Sister Anita Porterfield; grandchildren Robert Gore, Kelly Gore and Jordan Danner and his partner Sonora Gober, and her great granddaughter Grey Danner.
