Mary "Linda" Garza

Mary “Linda” Garza, 65, of Amarillo, passed away on January 1, 2022. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday January 5, 2022 at Cox-Rowley funeral home, 4180 Canyon drive. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Mary "Linda" Garza was born on March 16, 1956 to her proud parents Charlie and Mary Garza in San Saba Texas. On January 1, 2022, Linda found her way home to the Lord. Linda graduated from Hartley High School in 1974, and pursued her career with Xcel energy, where she remained for 38 years.

Linda married Rick Bethel and started a family. In 1991 she had her son Quinton, and in 1995 she had her daughter Brittney. She also had 5 cats and one dog that she loved as her children.

In 2017 Linda retired from Xcel, and began spending her time remodeling her home and working in her garden. Linda was an avid glass collector and enjoyed making beaded jewelry. She was an amazing cook and baker and loved to experiment with new recipes.

Anyone who knew Linda, was touched by her kindness, humor and heart of gold. Linda knew no stranger and was a friend to all.

Linda was preceded in death by Rick Bethel, her parents Charlie and Mary Garza. She is survived by, one son Quinton Bethel of Amarillo, and one daughter Brittney Bethel, of Amarillo. Two grandsons, Anubis and Osiris Bethel of Amarillo. One brother David Garza and wife Lacrecia, sister Sylvia Taft and husband Craig, Sister Margie House and husband Jimmy, sister Sandra Rice,   sister Lee Garza, Sister Tanya Paris and husband Justin, and many nieces and nephews, She is survived also by Buddy, Baby, Simba,Oliver, Re-re and Oreo, Her beloved pets.
