Matthew Leslie Richardson

Matthew Leslie Richardson, age 44, of Longview, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday November 11, 2021 at the Claude Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Matthew was born April 5th, 1977 to Larry Leslie Richardson and Frances Leenet Smothermon. Matthew’s hometown was Amarillo, Texas where he graduated from Randall High School in 1996 and developed a passion for working with electronics. Through the years he worked as a guard at TDCJ William P. Clements Unit and later moved into working in wireless communications with various companies including Goodman, Ericsson and his most recent company being Longview Tech.

He is described by friends as someone who “always knew how to make you laugh” and was kind and helpful to others. Matthew is preceded in death by his father Larry and his grandparents.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Leenet Richardson; two daughters, Brenna Curlee and Emmalee Richardson; four brothers, Clint Richardson and wife Sandra and their children, Kailee, Brandon and Brett, Kurt Richardson, Keith Eddy and Kelly Eddy; best friend, Chad Hodnett; two grandchildren Camila Curlee and Nicolas Lara, as well as multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was a beloved father, son, brother and friend and he will be dearly missed, but we know he is content at his father’s side in Heaven
