Maudie "Billie" Smith

Maudie “Billie” Jones Smith, 95, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday November 14, 2021 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday November 22, 2021 at Cox-Rowley Funeral home with Karen Wells Officiating. Billie will be available for viewing on Sunday November 21, 2021 from 12:00 – 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Billie was born on March 8, 1926 in Choctaw County, Oklahoma. She grew up in McLean, where her family moved in 1928. She married Vaughn V. Smith on September 10, 1945, in Pampa. They moved their family to Amarillo in 1965.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn Smith; one son-in-law, Jim Brookes; her parents; seven sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include one son, Ricky Smith and wife Sue of Amarillo; two daughters, Cheryl Reynolds and husband Ken of Amarillo and Marsha Brookes of Amarillo; eleven grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
