Melvin Lowe, 62, of Amarillo, passed away on April 18, 2022. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday April 23, 2022 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Gehm officiating. Melvin will be available for viewing on Friday April 22, 2022 at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Melvin was born in Jackson California to Hilbert and Verde Lowe on July 09, 1959. He was an adventurous man whose spirit eventually landed him in Texas, far from home. Melvin worked for the stock yards before starting his career with the Texas Department of Transportation for 30 years; He retired in 2015. Melvin had many hobbies, some of which include yard work, cooking on the BBQ and drinking a cold Coors Light. Melvin enjoyed old westerns and was an avid John Wayne fan, along with the old Indian movies. At heart He loved and enjoyed spending quality time with his family and especially with his grandchildren. Melvin was loved by so many, and will be missed.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Barbara, Janice and Linda; one nephew, DaShane Lowe.
Survivors include two sons, Melvin Lowe Jr. (Melissa) and Matt Lowe (Courtney); two daughters Brittney Lowe (Jesse) and Ashlei Reid all of Amarillo; one brother, Jerry Lowe (Rajina) of Holdenville, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Isaac, Mila, Lillian, Emma, Carolina, Matt, Brenexx, Lakien, Tayghan and Kase. Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
