Mildred Lucille Rucker, 91, of Amarillo, passed away on July 18, 2021 in Claude. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Lucille was born in Brandsville, Missouri on March 4, 1930 to Frederick and Attie Decker. She has been a part of the Amarillo community for over 67 years. Lucille was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing her own clothes and would often can her own fruits and vegetables. Lucille always loved a good garage sale and thrift shop. Among her many hobbies she enjoyed collecting Avon bottles and traveling with her family. Lucille worked as a cashier at the Piggly Wiggly and United Supermarkets for many years and also for different retail stores in the area. She was loved by many and will be missed.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband and father to her children, Reuben Rucker; her second husband, Gene Morris and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, Ronnie Rucker of Amarillo; two daughters, Wilma Rucker of Zionville, NC and Carol Ann Waits and husband Mike of Hochston, GA; four grandchildren, Roni, Remington, Christy and Mike; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Adams of West Plains, MO and Norma Gerdes of Gower, MO.
