Minnie Horn Obituary

Minnie Lou Horn joyfully met her beloved Savior on April 29, 2021, when she peacefully took her last breath here on earth and her first breath in heaven, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday May 3, 2021 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 555 E Hastings, with Pastor Michael Carter officiating. Minnie will be available for public viewing on Saturday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM and Sunday from 12:00 - 5:00 PM.

Minnie was born on December 30, 1933 in Texola, Oklahoma to Lawrence Adler and Nora Gambill Brooks. She met and married her one true love, Harold Hannan Horn on December 11, 1960. They were blessed with a son and daughter, who were the pride and joy of her life.

Minnie was a devoted follower of God, volunteering much of her time to the church, providing care in the nursery as well as fulfilling many other needs. She loved crafting of all types; remember the beaded Christmas trees?

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, daughter Sherry Lou Taylor and husband Johnny, son Anthony Todd Horn and wife Heather, 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, numerous other "children" that she considered "her kids" and loved as her own, sister Mary Koening and brother TJ Brooks. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

While we rejoice that she is eternally home, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Our sweet-and beautiful Minnie.

Heartfelt thanks to Monica, Lucy, Lupe, Clarissa, Gemma and Tonya with BSA Hospice and especially Angela Burrell, Harold and Minnie's Caretaker and friend.
Any time Minnie was leaving or saying goodbye to guests or family, she always spoke the Following phrase-as they were leaving, "Angels around and about you."
