Ninfa McConnell was born in Hidalgo County but considered herself an Amarillo native. She was a widow and who now joins her deceased husband, Jerry McConnell. Ninfa leaves behind a brother, Wenceslado Espinoza; two sisters: Juanita Romero and Elena Bambberg; and, two children: Cora and Leonard Reyes.
Ninfa started working for Levi Strauss in 1968 and retired from there. Then, she worked for Hastings distributing company until 2013. She was a very caring loving mother. She also was a very loving sister. She had many loving friends and she was very loved as well.
Ninfa did it all!!!! She was a hard worker. She was also a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She loved to read and the funnies in the Amarillo News Paper. Ninfa also had a great sense of humor. She loved all kinds of music and loved to dance. She loved to cook and was a great cook!! She crocheted, sewed and cut hair. She loved to do charity walks, walk her dog and exercise. Most of all, she loved her faith and she imparted that to her children!!! She was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral.
Ninfa will greatly be missed!!! She would always say before going to bed at night and saying her prayers, “Love you!!! See you in the morning God willing!! If not, you know where I am. It means our Awesome Lord was ready for me.” Love you, too, Mom!!!
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Monday June 13, 2022 at Saint Mary's Catholic Cathedral. Rosary services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday June 12, 2022 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. arrangements under under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
