Olive Faye (Griffeth) Gaines

Olive “Faye” Gaines, 94, of Amarillo passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Arrangements are being handled by Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Olive “Faye” was born to Charlie & Pearl Griffeth in Raton, New Mexico on April 8, 1927. She married the love of her life, Garrett Gaines on December 23, 1944. Faye was a very hard worker, she was a life-long rancher. She and her husband had built their home with their bare hands. Faye was always welcoming guests at their home which was on the Sante Fe Trail, she never knew a stranger. She loved everything about The Sante Fe Trail. Faye liked to crochet and quilt in her spare time. She was the rock of the family, she will be dearly missed.

Faye was preceded in death her parents; Charlie and Pearl Griffeth; her sister, June; her son, Garrett Jr.; and her husband Garrett Sr “Pete”.

Survivors include her daughter, Letha Allaire and husband Robert of Farley, NM; four grandchildren, Tami Clay of Amarillo; Shawn Price and wife Roxanne of Las Vegas, NV; Garrett Gaines and wife Wendy of Hobbs, NM; Victoria Gaines of Austin; five great-grandchildren, Laci, Katie, Peter, Garrison and Emily; and numerous other family members.
