Obituary

Paul Howard Hardman, a 32nd degree Mason and proud Air Force veteran, passed away on April 27, 2023, at the age of 92, in his Amarillo home. Military graveside services to honor his service to his country will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Amarillo, located at 14200 I27 at McCormick Rd, on May 2nd, at 10:00 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Born on October 13, 1930, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to Howard and Mary McKee Hardman, Paul enlisted in the Air Force at the age of 17 and served 20 years of active duty. He proudly held the "title" of Technical Sergeant and bravely served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. While stationed in Las Vegas, Nevada, he met Mary Lou Holt & her son Robert, whom he married on November 19, 1955. Shortly thereafter, he proudly adopted Robert as his own son.

After retiring from the Air Force in Amarillo, Paul pursued a degree in refrigeration repair from Amarillo College. He went on to work for A-1 Appliance and then became a Facility Maintenance Manager for NADCO in Saudi Arabia for three years. For the next two decades, Paul worked as a mechanic for various companies, earning a reputation as someone who could fix anything from lawnmowers to airplane engines. At the age of 65, he even earned his Private Pilot License.

In addition to his love for fixing things, Paul was an active member of the Khiva Shrine for many years. He is survived by two children, Robert Hardman and wife Elaine of South Padre Island, Texas, and Robin Dodson of Amarillo, Texas. He was also a proud grandfather of five, Jennifer Rasmussen, Austin Hardman, Ashley Hardman, Brittney Caflisch, and JPaul Dodson, and great-grandfather of seven, as well as a great-great-grandchild. Paul's brother, Jack Hardman of Cape Coral, Florida, and numerous Hardman and McKee cousins and a dear friend Kathy Mjolhus also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Lou Hardman, two sisters, Barbara Disler and Janet Stout, and more recently, his brother Tom Hardman.

The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the donor's favorite charity in memory of Paul Howard Hardman. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the VA, Interim Healthcare Hospice, and Visiting Angels for their care and support during Paul's final days.
