Rita Starr, 77, of Amarillo, passed away on December 31, 2021. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Rita was born on November 21, 1944 in Clayton, New Mexico to Loyd and Lois Coats. She was a fun and loving person always willing to have a good time and help those around her. Rita was an avid reader and jigsaw enthusiast. She enjoyed being pampered, getting her nails and hair done, shopping and going to a good thrift store. Rita was referred to as the entertainer of the family and was always good for a laugh. Rita always had Dr. Pepper in hand and loved the color purple.
She Loved the Lord and her faith was very important to her. She has gained the ultimate reward of healing in heaven with Jesus Christ.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert Dunlap; one daughter, Kendra Dunlap and one brother, Loyd Duans “Bud” Coats.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherri Groom of Canyon and Shanna Buttler (Kevin) of Lawton, Oklahoma; one brother, Wesley Coats ( Michelle) of Keyes, Oklahoma; one aunt, Alma Jean Cryer or Boise City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Christopher Ray (Lisa) of Borger, Kendra Bradshaw of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Shala McMasters of Lawton, Oklahoma and Anthony McMasters of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eight great grandchildren. Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews and close cousins.
