Robert “Bob” McNeil, 87, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Arena of Life Church, 8827 FM 1541, with Pastor Ty Jones and Pastor Travis Bennett officiating.
Bob was born June 21, 1934 in Kilgore, Texas to Claude and Florene McNeil. He graduated from Odessa High School and attended college in Odessa. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He married Shirley Rasco on September 17, 1977 in Lubbock, Texas. Bob owned and operated OK Upholstery for many years. He worked as a computer tech for Pioneer Natural Gas for 35 years, retiring in 1989. Bob was a strong Christian man. He and Shirley have been active members of Arena of Life Church for over 20 years. He was known as the “God Bless You man" at church. Bob spent his spare time studying the Bible. He used every opportunity he could to share the Gospel with people. His family remembers him always saying, “Give me your paw.” Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley McNeil; three sons, Corey McNeil and wife Joan, and Roy Gibbs and wife Christy all of Lubbock, and Bobby Gibbs and wife Dacia of Amarillo; three daughters, Kim Taylor and husband Fuzz of Lubbock, Lavanda Hughes and husband Bo of Lefors, and Judy Mauldin and husband Billy of Hemphill; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
