Ruth Elaine Jimenez

Ruth Elaine Jimenez 72, of Amarillo passed away April 18, 2022. Visitation will be Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 2-4 pm at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. Funeral service will he Monday, April 25, 2022 at 2pm at Cox- Rowley Funeral Home with burial to follow at Llano Cemetery. Ruth was born December 12, 1949 in Amarillo to Manuel and Ernestine De La Cruz. She graduated from Caprock High School, she later met the love of her life Johnny Jimenez and they married on October 15, 1976 in Clovis, New Mexico.

They lived in Amarillo for many years, where she was a homemaker and enjoyed every minute of it. She loved taking care of her husband, children and all her grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, and gambling. She will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter Samantha De La Cruz and a brother Sammy De La Cruz.

She is survived by her loving husband Johnny; her children: Sammy Gilliam; Joel De La Cruz; and Damien Jimenez. Siblings: Vera and Paul Cruz; Rebecca and John Lujan and David and Delia De La Cruz. Grandchildren Joel, Myria, Mia, Sebastian, Oscar, Gabriel, BreAnn and Sabrina. Great Grandchildren: Jordan, Elliana, Athena, Addison, Giana, Blake and Viyaneli.
