Shirley Ann Wright

Shirley Wright, 85, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, July 9, 2021 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Chaplain Byron Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Shirley was born October 24, 1935 in Amarillo, Texas to Mark and Edith Fields. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1954. She married Billy “Clauddell” Wright on December 23, 1957 in Amarillo. They have been blessed with 63 years of marriage together. Shirley worked for the Federal government at the helium plant. Over the years, she managed the bookkeeping for Clauddell’s businesses. She was a very organized and detail oriented person, which served her well in this capacity. Shirley was strong in her faith, and had a real love for supporting many ministries to further the Kingdom of God. She was an avid reader and spent countless hours studying the Bible. She loved gardening, which was a passion she passed down to her family. Shirley enjoyed having a lot of music in her home while she was raising her children. Her family is at peace knowing she is now with her Savior.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Patricia Childs; and a brother, James Fields.

Survivors include her husband, Clauddell Wright; two daughters, Kelly Ann Haberman and husband Preston of Amarillo, and Karen Williams and husband Terry of Coweta, OK; a son, Kevin King Wright and wife Alexis of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Renee Howard and husband Bridger, Gina Vigil and husband George, Becca Hall, Kayla Williams, Keaton Williams, Bronwyn Wright, Boaz Wright and Holland Wright; and five great-grandchildren, Christian, Carter, Caylee, London, and Brecken.
