Stacy Lyn Esquibel, 53, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday July 14, 2021. No services are scheduled at this time. The family will have a private gathering at a later day for Stacy’s family and close friends. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Stacy was born on November 4, 1967 in Amarillo to Doug “Pokey” and Karen Smith. She graduated from Panhandle High school in 1985. Stacy went on to attend West Texas A&M University where she received a Bachelor degree in Education. She was a Substitute Teacher and highly involved in Boys and Girls Scouts. Stacy enjoyed traveling with her mother and family, especially to the mountains in the fall seasons. She was an avid reader and enjoyed family history and genealogy. Among her many hobbies, Stacy loved photography and scrap booking. She was very involved in the Amarillo Little theater and also was a part of the TEXAS musical cast for several years. Stacy enjoyed spending quality time with her son and being surrounded by her family. She was loved by many and will be missed.
Stacy was preceded in death by her husband, Rosey Esquibel; Mother, Karen and both sets of her Grandparents. She is no doubt enjoying the reunion with those in her family that had gone before her.
Survivors include her father, Doug Smith of Panhandle; one son, Daniel Esquibel; two brothers, Steven Smith and wife Jill of Southlake and Jeff Smith and his significant other, Mia; one sister in law, Sue Smith all of Amarillo. Survivors also include a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends.
