Steve Curless, 71, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Boon Vongsurith and Pastor Mike Dickey officiating.
Steve was born March 11, 1950 in Independence, Missouri to Eldon and Margaret Curless. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1968, and attended Amarillo College. Steve married the love of his life, Brenda Hunt on March 13, 1971. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. While in the service, Steve was stationed in Japan, Germany, Texas and California. Steve went on to make his career as a self-employed computer programmer for 40 years, retiring in 2020. In his spare time, Steve loved playing sports, including basketball, tennis, softball and table tennis. He enjoyed radio controlled planes and cars. He attended as many of his grandsons’ games and activities as he could. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include wife, Brenda Curless; his son, Brandon Curless and wife Brandi of Amarillo; his son by heart, Jon Clark and wife Cathy of Amarillo; his sister, Pam Nunn and husband Jerry of Leesville, LA; his aunt, Nell Garringer of Alexandria, VA; three grandchildren, Tristan, Camron and Dylan; a niece and two nephews.
