Talma Powers, 95, of Amarillo passed away Thursday April, 13, 2023. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Monday April 17, 2023 at Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Dr. Buddy Young officiating. The family will be accepting friends 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday April 16, 2023 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Talma was born on April 9, 1928 in Paris, TX to Leroy and Jesse Powers. Talma met the woman who stole his heart, Geraldine in the local soda shop in Deport. She would make him milkshakes when he would frequently stop by to see her on his lunch break. They were married on October 12, 1946. Together they shared 76 years of marriage, a daughter, an amazing life and many memories. Talma was a mechanic and co-owned Powers’ automotive. He enjoyed working on cars, camping and especially fishing. His love for trout fishing was one of his favorite hobbies. You could always find him outside in the garden and doing yard work. His favorite spot was sitting on his back porch. Talma was loved, he will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Geraldine.
Survivors include his daughter Linda Lindley and husband Michael of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Justin Mullins and wife Lisa of Odessa; Josh Lindley of Amarillo; Kyle Lindley and wife Kala of Pampa; six great-grandchildren, Lynsey Brown and husband Jordan of Amarillo; Kalie Mullins and Fiancé Nick Lachaussee of Amarillo; Riley Lindley of Pampa; Taylor Lindley of Canyon; Devin Lindley of Canyon; Aubreigh Lindley of Pampa; and five great-great grandchildren.
