Veronica “Bunny” Barnum, 72, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday February 22, 2021 in Amarillo. No services are scheduled at this time.
Bunny was born Veronica Ann Parko on October 17, 1948 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania to John and Martha Parko. She moved to Amarillo in 1986 and worked for TJ Maxx as retail manager before her retirement. Bunny married her husband Billy Barnum in Amarillo on April 16, 1998 and they spent 22 wonderful years together before he passed away in 2020. She enjoyed watching the Hallmark channel, playing word games on her phone and coloring in her coloring books. Bunny was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed the good old romantic novels. She enjoyed being home, but spent much of her time at El Patron Tex-Mex Restaurant in Amarillo, her favorite restaurant in town. Bunny was loved by many and will be missed.
Bunny was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Barnum; one son, Michael Pacheco; one son-in-law, Daryl Dufur.
Survivors include one daughter, Jonell Dufur of Dalhart; one son Jason Berton and wife Laurice of Sydney, Australia; one step-daughter, Lisa DuBois of North Carolina; two step-sons, David Barnum and Steven Pacheco and his wife Bonnie of Las Vegas, New Mexico; grandson, Joshua Dufur. Survivors also include a host of additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bunny also leaves behind her beloved dog Peanut.
