Victor was born and raised in Clovis, NM born March 19, 1950. He graduated from Clovis high school and then he joined the military in 1971 where he served two tours in the Navy. Then became an LVN at BSA hospital and various nursing homes until he retired. Victor loved fishing, gardening and traveling. Loved eating as long as someone else cooked it. He loved to give everyone a hard time. He was selfless and would give his shirt off his back to any one in need. He loved turtles and loved bird watching and his gospel music, and loved his Precious (fur baby). Had two kids with Bettie Ann Roosa, married young and became detached, and later met Billy Nay and they have been together for 31 years and married for 8 of those years.
Survivors include one son Jason Betancourt of Denver, CO. One daughter Lisa Ann Hart & Robert Harlan of Denver, CO. Perceived as daughters Charity Huggins/ Nicole Karr of Amarillo TX. Brothers and sisters include Viola & Val Vialpando of Aurora CO, Arthur & Tina Gonzales of Roswell NM, Ida Betancourt (Salvador Betancourt deceased) of Clovis NM, Rose & Roger Green of Wildorado TX, Madelyn & Joe Cruz of Albuquerque NM, Antonio & Rosemarie Betancourt of Amarillo TX, Mary Frances Sena (David Sena deceased) of Albuquerque, NM, Josie & George Lopez of Clovis NM, Carmela Hernandez of Friona TX, Darlene Betancourt of Bernalillo NM. He has 5 grandkids and 9 great grandkids, and numerous nieces & nephews. Sister in law Rita Linley & brother in law Roy Linley of Columbus Ohio, brother in law Charles Nay/ Mariellen of Norwalk Ohio. Extended family Dee O’ Gorman/ Dena Kidd of Amarillo TX, Jessie Morales of Amarillo TX.
He was preceded in death by both parents Victor & Tillie Betancourt, brother Salvador Betancourt; three nephews Sal Betancourt Jr, Saunty Betancourt, David Sena Jr, one niece Gina Gonzales
