Virginia Hess Obituary

Virginia E. Hess, loving Mother, Grandmother and Friend peacefully went to be with her heavenly Father on July 27, 2022. A celebration of Virginia’s wonderful life will be held at Temple Baptist Church, 3208 S Van Buren on Thursday August 4, 2022, at 2:00pm with Scott Higginbotham officiating. The family will be accepting friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday August 3, 2022 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

She was born to Jack and Maude Warren in Munday Texas, July 29, 1926. Virginia moved to Amarillo as a child. Living in South Carolina and California during World War II, she returned to raise her family and live her life in Amarillo. She had been “visiting” her daughter in the Atlanta area for several years, but her love of the Texas Panhandle, her home and neighbors in Amarillo, Texas never dimmed.

Virginia loved her Lord, her family, her friends, and the Gaither’s. Her love reached across generations, and she had beloved friends of every age. With a cake for a new neighbor or a dish for a sick friend, she touched the hearts of everyone she met.

A prayer warrior with a heart of service, Virginia taught Primary Sunday School and Training Union at Temple Baptist Church for many years. She loved the fellowship of Temple and really enjoyed singing the old hymns on Sunday evenings.
