The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Monday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Leon was born September 2, 1978 in Borger, Texas to Truzell and Willie Holiwell, Sr. He graduated from Borger High School in 1996. He married his middle school/ high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Brandi Stone on August 7, 1999. Leon worked for Lowe’s and B&R Thriftway in Borger. He has worked for Praxair for the last several years. In his spare time Leon was always busy. An extremely hard worker, Leon put his heart into everything he did. He enjoyed any time he could spend with is kids. He and Willie bonded through music and movies. He and Jayce worked on Jayce’s truck, and he enjoyed going for pedicures with Aaliyah. He coached the kids’ basketball teams and they all enjoyed vacationing together. He was the definition of a family man who absolutely adored his wife; they were soulmates. Leon considered his friends as family, and he was a father to many young people. His smile lit up every room he entered and he had an infectious laugh. Leon was one of the most generous souls you could ever meet. He didn’t know a stranger. He was fiercely protective of not only his family, but any and all under his care. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Marcus Jones.

Survivors include his wife Brandi Holiwell; two sons, Willie Holiwell, III and Jayce Holiwell; a daughter, Aaliyah Holiwell; a brother, Micheal Sauls and wife Hannah; a sister, Treva Jones-McCoy; a grandson, Carter Davis; his mother-in-law, Gloria Stone; his father-in-law, Roger Stone; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and many in-laws.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to a benefit fund for Leon's children at any Happy State Bank branch. The fund is in care of Brandi Holiwell.
