Obituary
Wilma Ruth Smith, 89 of Amarillo passed away on August 17, 2023. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday August 29, 2023 at Llano Cemetery with Scott Egan officiating.
Ruth was born on August 24, 1933 in Stratford, Oklahoma to Lewis and Sadie Shirley. She grew up in Hereford Texas. Ruth married Linvell Smith in 1953. Together they shared 56 years before his passing. She was a faithful member of South Georgia Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Ruth had worked for many years at Southwestern Investment Company and then at ING as an Insurance Adjuster.
She was preceded in death by her husband Linvell; her son Greg; her brother Alvin Shirley; and her sister Kaye Malicoat.
Survivors include a son Ricky and wife Debbie; four grandchildren Tyson (Nicole); Kendra (Aric); Jeremy; and Eschele; six great-grandchildren, Madison; Hudson; Bentlee; Korbin; Emma; and Lily; her sister Joyce Landers. Survivors also include a host of many nieces and nephews.
